PUMA Segway
I’m a day late on writing about the PUMA (Personal Urban Mobility & Accessibility) prototype. I can’t say that I was, or am, a fan of the Segway as I’ve witnessed one to many catastrophes with people trying to use them for the first time.
But the PUMA caught my attention. I love any kind of vehicle that combines design, new technology (in this case, the lithium battery and the balancing software), and compactness. I’ve read in more than one place that it has earned the ‘weird’ moniker. I think the PUMA is probably as far from weird as it can get. In fact, I think it looks pretty cool. And it could be a practical little machine for running errands around town or going to meetings or the grocery store. Of course I’d have to drive one around the block a few times before I tell you what I really think …
Folks gotta start thinking out of the box if we’re going to save the planet.
