Night Sky: Mars
Every night at 11pm I take the dog outside one last time before going to bed. For most of the last week or so the air has been crisp and the night sky clear and bright. As the dog does his thing, my eyes gaze over the sky looking for familiar points of light.
At 11pm Mars is almost directly over head, just a little to the south. It has been shining incredibly brightly for the last few weeks. It is easily noticeable because it looks like a tiny ruby or garnet catching the light in the night sky.
I don’t know why, but when I can see Mars this clearly I feel a bit connected. Not so much to Mars, but to the universe somehow. It’s a strange feeling. But a welcome one.
I love planet and star gazing.
